old skul snacks

No comments:

the excitement here in the office this morning was about these three old school snacks: Zeb-zeb corn puff , Pompoms cheese-flavored curls and Dorie's kropeck.

a closer look:

after the usual after-lunch kwentuhan last friday, we've decided to experience, yet again, these snacks that have been a part of our childhood. hindi ko maalala kung paano napunta sa mga chichiria yung usapan, pero n'ong sinabi na ni sherwin yung zeb-zeb, ayun, nag share na lahat ng mga natatandaan nila na chichiria noon. some mentioned were:
  • mister singko, mini round candies stored in a straw-like package that you can all eat in just one slurp.
  • milky bar, a milky bar candy with that famous smiling cow in its package.
  • plastic baloon and teks, though they're not really snacks (unless some of you made a snack out of it, which is um, um... creepy), it was also one of those things we love to buy from aling nena's sari-sari store. trivia: someone from the group bought a banig of plastic balloon from his/her first salary *wink, wink*
  • bazooka, cherry balls and big boy, chewing gums that were the closest to our hearts ♥
i volunteered to bring pompoms and zeb-zeb since it's still available in our palengke. i bought it yesterday before hearing mass. rey even sent me a text message reminding me about it. speaking of rey, he's the one who bought dorie's kropeck. mas masarap sana kung may suka, kaya lang bawal dito sa loob ng office, hehe :)

each and every one we offered the snacks to had a sudden smile on their faces by just hearing the name zeb-zeb, pompoms or dorie's. "uy kumakain ako nyan nung bata pa ako...", the majority said whenever they hear the name or they saw the packaging. some were requesting other snacks like cornbits and cheesedog.

ikaw? anong paborito mong chichiria noong bata ka pa?

that's why it looks familiar...

this is one of the behind the scene shots of hale's video shoot for their new single, shooting star. i first saw this picture posted as the YG's profile photo. sabi ko n'ong una kong nakita e parang nakapunta na ako sa lugar na yan. then i found out that this was shot in angono (yes, ten-minutes-away-from-our-house angono) last tuesday. this is the road going to angono petroglyphs cave.

tsk tsk tsk, sayang.

flavorless

am i really born to stride this smooth surface? where there are no glitch whatsoever, no flaws, no stupidity. absurdity is nowhere to be found and yet i sometimes seek it. everyone around me have these enormous ideas to share, touching people's lives with their sensible senses, may it be created by their thoughts or by their simple sharp, comforting stares.

i am so bland.

dreamgirls and dream wedding take 2

No comments:
i guess i expected too much from Dreamgirls that i ended up not being able to finish the film because of boredom.

last saturday, i decided to catch a movie after Up Dharma Down's gig in Galleria. i was set to watch Mandy Moore's new flick Because I Said So since i haven't seen Mandy for quite a while now. i don't know what came into me when i suddenly said cinema 5, where they're showing dreamgirls, instead of cinema 4, where because i said so was shown when i bought my ticket. well, i really want to watch dreamgirls eversince i saw its trailer when i watch The Number 23 with my parents. i guess i expected it to be as good as Ray since both of them have the same theme and the same era.

the movie was based on a broadway production -- that i forgot to put in mind before buying the ticket. it was, i guess, too much songs which falls on the singing contest genrè that's why i didn't last 'till the film's end. i love musicals and broadway plays, but dreamgirls did not appeal to me that much. i commend the film's cinematography and artistry, but i did not entirely enjoyed it. i was already yawning come half of the film. and that's a sign that i find it boring, since i cannot stop yawning and was not glued to see what happens next.

change topic: my parents both realized that they'll be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this year. wow, 25 years! i asked my dad if they will be renewing their vows since it will be their 25th year together. i didn't get an answer, but this will be something all of us can look forward to this year.

medyo pressure sa akin ito ah, hehe :)

high school reunion

No comments:

peng's birthday party last night became a mini highschool reunion. it was nice seeing old familiar faces. we all realized that we have grown so much because of the topics we had over dinner. everyone was excited hearing each and everyone's stories; who's getting married, who's leaving the country and what each and everyone's career now. and being at peng's place brings back good memories because her house was the usual hang out of the whole class for four years. may it be group projects or dance rehearsals, peng's house was always the comfortable place for our batch.

too bad the rest of our classmates didn't make it to the party. i never really had the chance to talk to peng that much since a lot of her friends came in last night. but it was all good because i haven't seen her for a long time. peng was even surprised when she noticed that i already have all my brackets on. and i've had my upper brackets installed november last year.

i am hoping that her schedule will allow us to have our movie date later. i still have to call her later to confirm.

sana ok mamaya...

********

edited 12:16 noon: hang over hits peng, teee heeee :) so she decided to stay at home and sleep the whole day today. o well...

grade one

naalala ko nung minsang tinitingnan namin yung mga class pictures namin. pareho kaming napangiti dahil sa isang class picture. anim na taon kami noon, christmas party namin. magkatabi kami sa litrato.

...close na pala tayo n'on? sabi nya.

Happy Birthday Peng!

baby rj's dedication

No comments:
i woke up as early as 5am last saturday for baby rj's dedication in parañaque.

normally, i wake up around 9am during the weekends, but last saturday's special since it will be my first long road trip with my officemates. well, for me it was a long road trip because i am from rizal and most of my officemates are from manila.

i went to wendy's boni and waited for eight and candy. they arrived around 6:40, 20 minutes earlier than the calltime. i was wowed when i saw eight's car. medyo nahiya akong sumakay, hehe. we met up with sherwin and olive at jollibee near the tollgate in parañaque. sherwin drove from that point to pacita where rj, kuya rey's bunso's dedication was held. hindi naman kami nawala sa pag-hanap ng lugar kasi malinaw yung direksyon na sinulat ni kuya rey kasama nung imbitasyon.

with joey, olive eight and candy

it was my first time to attend a dedication ceremony. the ceremony was short and sweet. joey, kuya rey's eldest sang Welcome to The Family after the blessing. i got the chance to carry rj for a while after the ceremony. tabachingching sya! good thing he did not cry while i was carrying him. he stared at me a couple of times while he was in my arms. there's one instance that he smiled at me. awwww!

gigil mode with baby rj ♥

we left the venue around 1pm. the trip was not that tiring since the traffic was not that heavy. i was home around 3pm. i slept for a while and then continued with my heroes marathon. i'm done with the first 13 episodes. it was cool :)

anyone who has downloads of episodes after the 13th? :)

dizzy

2 comments:
hale will be in megamall later and i still am not decided if i'm checking out their gig. i haven't seen them for so long. the last time i saw them was during their wazzup guesting two months ago. i miss them a lot. i was saddened when i heard the news about champ's grandma :c i just hope he's fine. i remember those times when i see him sad. you can really see it in his eyes. he hides it most of the time, but his eyes never lie. xavier said that his family's expecting it though. but still it's sad.

i always leave the office early. and i am savoring the convenience of it for the past three weeks. the travel still take two hours, but less stressful. plus there's no long lines at the fx bays.

i'm still a bit dizzy. low blood? high blood? i don't really know. but i know something's wrong. and i'm a little scared to find out what it is...

heroes fever is on. i haven't started watching the dvd philip gave me, but it's getting more and more interesting because of my friends' blog entries about it. i might start my marathon this weekend.

my parents are off to baguio on saturday. good thing it will be a busy weekend for me too. i hope i can go to baguio soon. i've been wanting to since time in memorial. maybe this summer...

love team

No comments:
i like the kim-gerald tandem.

baduy na kung baduy.

but they're just adorable. may kilig factor talaga sila e. actually, my whole family loves them. plus the fact that my dad appreciates them, meaning sinusundan nya yung story ng Sana Maulit Muli na teleserye nila; and he's not the type who has this liking for loveteams nowadays, or loveteams for that matter -- it means that kim-gerald loveteam definitely is unique.

o well, be the judge. here's the latest video from itchyworms featuring kim chiu and gerald anderson.

oh before i forget. i called him a while ago. it's his day today, well, tomorrow in the US, hehe.

Happy Birthday Ralph!

stainedshirt's podcast

2 comments:
my goal for the next three months: to watch Silent Sanctuary's gig.

i bought their album Fuchsiang Pag-ibig yesterday when i went to Greenbelt with my friends for lunch. their song "Ikaw Lamang" has been my LSS for almost a week now. plus i saw the band play live in ASAP for the first time last sunday. Silent Sanctuary is another band who dared not to conform. my friend xavier has written a review about the cd. what's funny is i was suppose to write my own review about the album, but xavier's review is really fascinating. speaking of which, please please do check out his new podcast site:

it's like having his own radio station! how cool is that?! aside from his cool voice (naks!) and diverse taste in music, he also has insightful information about the band he's featuring. his latest podcast entry? silent sanctuary! i'm definitely recommending this site to my officemates and friends abroad. i already bookmarked his podcast. so click on the banner above and enjoy stainedshirt's podcasts.
