Last Post

No comments:
It has been a very busy day for me. I have been infront of the computer for almost 4 hours now. It's the last day of 07 and as always, end-of-the-year post is a must.

Most of my internet time was spent on purchasing items from Ebay. It's my first time to try on-line shopping and I have mixed feelings about it. Of course, there is fear of the products not being shift as promised, but I read first the recommendations of those people who already bought an item from the user that sells the items that I fancy. I already paid everything through PayPal, so all I have to do is wait.

There are certain people and things that I want to forget about this year. I am sad that these things happened, but it made me realize who my FRIENDS are. And I am glad I was able to teach someone what EX-FRIENDS mean. He doesn't believe it existed, but now, he knows that it does.

I definitely blog a lot this year. I may have to think about my routine when it comes to blogging. I'm planning to expand my website by inviting guest writers, like famous people and writers that I trully adore.

I am now part of a group. Finally. One of our bosses call us the Hit Squad. This might sound a cliche, but I am willing to do everything for the group, because I know they got my back and I got theirs.

Music is what I trully miss this year. I rarely went to band gigs and concerts. I miss the crowd, the noise, the passion.

I said I was prepared. Or I thought I was.

I learned some and I loose some, but 2007 is one of my favorite years. I grew up a bit. A tiny bit. I made a few mistakes. Or maybe more.

Here's to me and the year ahead.

I Blog. I Write.

No comments:
This post is almost a month late. But it's better late than never. LOL.

Describe your blog in five sentences or less.
- I am the most boring person you'll ever meet, and while I am writing this entry, I am having second thoughts as to why I have a blog. This is an extension of my old school journal which I've had since 6th grade. This blog is all about me doing what I know I'm good at--writing. No matter how senseless or insightful my entries are, I know that It always make me feel good and accomplished.

Link us to one post from your blog that best defines who you are.
- I just love making people smile.

What sets you apart from other bloggers?
- My domain name.

When and how did you first discover blogging?
- I discovered blogging three years ago when I met Hale and other fans of the band. Having your own blog or your own online portal seems to be the trend during those times, so I created my own and have learned to love logging my thoughts online eversince.

What is your biggest pet peeve related to blogging or the internet?
- My biggest pet peeve related to blogging and the internet has got to be the spam emails and people who leave nasty comments on blogs.

Name one plugin, blogging widget, or service that you can’t live without.
- I'm not really a widget kind-of-person but I guess the service I can never live without would be the photo hosting and photo editing sites. Adobe licenses are pretty expensive but you can get the luxury of enhancing your photos, near to what Photoshop can do, with online picture editors.

If you could choose anyone, living or dead, to write a guest post for your blog, who would it be and why?
- I would very much want to have the following people to write a post for my blog: John Mayer, Armi Millare of Up Dharma Down and Roald Dahl. I frequent John Mayer's blog and I love the fact that blogging is one of his hobbies. I adore how transparent his entries are. His fans will definitely have a bigger grasp on how he is like as an artist and as an individual. Roald Dahl is on top of my Favorite Authors list and I never, and will not ever, be tired of reading his books. Too bad I did not have the chance to meet him in this lifetime. Lastly, I really hope Armi Millare will read this post and share her thoughts as a guest writer here. I had a great time interviewing her and her bandmates two years ago for a magazine, and reading her blog has been a habit because she has this deep sense and perspective about everything.

How has blogging made you a better person?
- Blogging has made me a better person because it made me realize how much importance writing is in my life. Writing is one thing that I know I am good at, and writing my thoughts and having people read them, no matter how sensible or stupid my ideas are, really boost my confidence.

What are your tips for becoming a better blogger?
- This blog definitely has got a lot of room for improvement, so for this question, I would leave this question for YOU (yes, YOU who's reading this post right now).

Name one great blog that you read on a regular basis. What makes it unique?
- No Half Measures. A gifted writer. I feel really inspired and blessed whenever I read her post. It's a blog with a lot of passion.

Spoiling Cars

No comments:
A car spoiler is not much of a tricky word. The first time I've encountered it, I thought it's something about a teaser of a movie about cars. "Revamping cars" is the more appropriate phrase for it. For a more sleek look for your ride, car spoilers gives car owners an option to provide car make-overs, ranging from factory spoilers, custom-made spoilers to rear-deck spoilers.

Envirominded

No comments:
There are some keywords on queue these past few days, like environmental site assessment, which I only heard of just now. Environmental-themed sites are really trying to raise traffic these past few weeks. Most of them either suggest things about taking care of the environment or offer services that would help consumers be aware of the things that they can do for mother earth.

Migraines

No comments:
What's the best way to cure a throbbing migraine? Hit your head with a malet? Scream your heart out? Place your head inside a freezer? Those are the comical ways on how to get rid of it. But if you really want to get th pain away in a snap, an Advil, trying to relax, and a few deep breaths can do the trick.

Pasko

No comments:
Merry Christmas, everybody! I hope everyone had a great Noche Buena last night. Thank you to everyone who sent their greetings through SMS. I'm very sorry I could not reply because I ran out of prepaid credits. Booohooo! Anyways, this post goes out to all of you.

As for me and my family, we've decided to just sleep it off and celebrate Christmas fully this morning because Zaide had to go to work and my dad had to serve in the midnight mass last night. It was the first time we never really celebrated Christmas eve together. *sighs* The three of us are really getting older...

We gave out a couple of gifts to some realtives and visitors who came by today. It's just so fulfilling seeing the smiles and the elating reactions of people when they open their gifts and giving you a hug afterwards. This is my favorite day of the year.

Another reason this is a very special day for me and the rest of the family is because it's our Bunso's 17th Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Zyrene!
We Love You!

I haven't given him anything for his birthday. I kept asking him for days what he wanted for his birthday but he just kept on smiling and not saying anything. I heard he's planning to have his friends over this Thursday for a little get-together which is good since I know my brother as a workaholic (in terms of his studies).

Anyways, I have to make this post short since I'll be hearing mass in a bit. The night is young, and I hope everybody's having a blast! :)

Need Tips On Powerpoint

2 comments:
This Sunday, our family will be hosting the annual family reunion. My mom asked me if I can prepare a video presentation that will feature the photos of last year's reunion. I said I will try my best. I know how to do a presentation in Powepoint, but I have no idea how can I convert it into a video file. Anyone who can give tips?

Major house cleaning is definitely the first thing our whole family will do starting tonight. I heard my dad thinking out loud about where to hire chairs and tables and his plans for the exterior lighting in the garden. Long night and Saturday for us, I guess.

It's Zyrene's birthday on the 25th. I can't believe our bunso is turning 17. I asked him if he's getting tired of our yearly party for the neighborhood kids, since he's not getting any younger. But he said he enjoys it and it has been a family tradition. I wonder how many kids will attend this year...

Wish Hard

No comments:
Mama and Papa's 25th wedding anniversary was celebrated just like any ordinary day. There was so much to think about that having a celebration is the last of our priorities. My parents jokingly wished for a trip to Paris or any of those extravagant caribbean cruises. I said that they will have that soon when I become a millionaire, hehe :)

Nakakata-Cute

3 comments:
This is me, trying to be cute but ended up looking nakakata-cute (scary), with Nicole. LOL. She's my friend Fideliz's cutie pup. Fideliz brought her along when she picked me up in Rufino last Tuesday. Nicole is so cudly and kept on staring at me as if trying to ask who is this new friend of her boss. She was a snob at first, but eventually became at ease. I jokingly asked Fideliz if I can take her home because Nicole ended up sleeping with her head on my lap. She said no, of course. Hope to see you soon, Nicole. Oh, and Fideliz too, hehe :)

For Kuya Rey

No comments:
This is the latest teaser poster of the upcoming Batman film, The Dark Knight. Latest web updates said that the film will premiere worldwide on July 18, 2008. I also came across the latest theatrical trailer of the film in HD format.

I got goosebumps while watching the clip because of Heath Ledger. He really is Joker-personified. Remarkable. I was expecting to see Katie Holmes because she played the female lead, and the cape crusader's love interest in the last film. I was surprised seeing Maggie Gyllenhal instead.

Wireless Phones

No comments:
Wireless home phones are very in-demand right now. Almost all telecommunication companies are shifting to using a fiber cable-free phone lines. This is a good move because more people were given the chance to have their own portable communication device alternative to cellular phones. Also, the telephone companies are saving a lot of pennies from the cost of cables because now they are using satellite signals to connect.

Kape

No comments:
It seems like espresso machines became everyone's friend these days. With the cold weather and unending stress of the holidays, having a cup of coffee is like lying down on a soft cushion in the middle of the city. Coffee in general have been a part of the Pinoy lifestyle. Business meetings here and chit-chatting there, cafes are jam packed anytime of the day.

Fat Bits

No comments:
Being thin has been the trend in some industries for some time. Bless those souls who do not need to use weight-loss paraphernalias like a hoodia patch or go through a rigorous excercise regimen because they are naturally thin. It has something to do with a person's metabolism. The faster the metabolism, the faster the process of food intake, thus resulting to burning fats and cholesterol in a snap.

Christmas Shopping

No comments:
I did all my Christmas shopping with my mom and my brother yesterday. Our shopping haven? DIVISORIA! That place is crazy! Good thing, we've decided to went there as early as 8am. Mama planned to go to the "secret shopping places" she knew where the items are 50% less the normal price. But we ended getting stuff from Tutuban Mall because the people are starting to pile up every second. Most of the stuff at one of the stores we went into are generic stuff and there was nothing extravagant like truck bed liner, or a fancy carpet. We surveyed the stuff first and then listed the people that we wanted to give gifts to. A classy 4-cup coffee set was my favorite among the things that we bought. We got 15 boxes, good enough for the number of my aunts and uncles on both my mom and dad's side.

Our shopping extravaganza lasted for only two hours because we really wanted to go home as early as we could. As soon as we got home, we wrapped all the stuff that we bought, and now our Christmas tree looks more festive because of the gifts under it :)

Thinking Green

1 comment:
live greener productsWith the fast-paced lifestyle that we have, we don't really have that much time to realize that some of the things we do are beginning to be harmful for the environment. Pollution and overuse of our energy resources are two of the common attacks we unawarely do every time. I myself is guilty in doing these things by leaving electric appliances unplugged and not segregating our garbage properly. Of course, everyone of us is guilty in little ways that we never imagined we are doing. So I guess it's time to make a little change.

Huge step like a decision to contribute in saving the environment may take a while to do, but a good start is have a run of using environmental products. Greenmore.com may have the best selections for your next step to being eco-friendly. The easy-to-navigate website is divided into five different shops:

Air Purifiers -they have a variety of air purifiers, but I personally like the one that has an Allergen Control component. I easily get irritated with airborne particles that I end up sneezing non-stop so a purifier that filters allergens is a great tool.
Furnitures - chairs and stools made of Bamboo is really a must-buy from this section of the online store. The manufacturers used good-quality materials in making a simple and elegant designs.
Solar Power - one of my favorites is the portable solar-powered chargers. It charges using the sun's energy and powers virtually all hand held elecetronics.
Home Improvement - jazz up your house and make it eco-friendly with standard attic covers and their house ventilation systems.
Energy Savings - the Rain Barrels Rain Water Collection System is a must-buy.

If you have a particular product in mind, the website also has a search tool. Just type the keyword of the item on the search field.

So start thinking green now and help conserve the environment.

Light Up

No comments:
I don't know how to drive, but I know how essential it is for a car to have a good quality driving lights. May it be an SUV, a truck, a jeepney, a taxi or an expensive luxury car--having a well-maintained component such as driving lights are vital. It lights up the road when visibility is tough to navigate. Driving Lights are also a great way to dress your vehicle up while driving down city streets. A careful selection of the best equipment to install the best driving lights is the key to having a safer drive on the road every time. Visit BuyAutoTruckAccessories.com and check out their driving lamps, which they sell at a Guaranteed Low Price.

Christmas Party was not that fun as last year. I feel bad for those QA guys who are still working and not partying with us last night. Most of them were the youngest of the batch and I was expecting that they will be the one who will enjoy the party the most but didn't happen :( It was their project deadline and some of them have been working their butt of for the past two weeks, but I'm fortunate to have such hard working officemates. Most of them are my friends so it was really inspiring. I want to give each one of them a well-deserved hug. I once again won the raffle, yebah! I got 1k SM gift certs. The first thing I thought of was it will be a huge help for my Christmas gift shopping. But no luck for me on our CEO's raffle portion. He gave out a couple of video iPods, Play Station Portables loaded with games, the latest Nokia cellphone and Play Station 3 as the grand prize.

I got my Wish #2 and #3 in the Kris Kringle from my Mommy, Ms. Chay (thanks again! :) ). She said she wanted to give me the Holga120N cam, but it's too darn expensive. Actually, in that particular store in Jupiter it was way too expensive. The average price of the cam is I think 2K, but they sell it for 4k! Sayang talaga! But I got two gifts so it's still good :)

I'll post pictures within the week.

Family Reunion

No comments:
It slipped my mind that December is also the time for the annual family reunion on both my mother and father's side. I grew up being one of the organizers of the event, helping out my cousins and aunties. We prepare the program and look for a venue. This year, I was assigned to create a video presentation of the pictures from the previous year. I am saving the Hi-Res versions of the file now. Movie maker or Powerpoint are my options to create the presentation. Wish me luck :)

Happy Birthday :)

No comments:

They say I got her eyes, and that sun-shiny smile. Our gestures are uncanny. Half of the town have known her as one of the best teachers of her generation. Not that I am complaining, but people know me more as Mrs. Certeza's daughter than my own name.

Teaching is what she wanted for me all these years, but I just kept on treading a different path. She realized eventually that teaching is not really made for me. I was just not gifted with such skills. Plus I know that I can never be like her, as people inevitably would always expect of me.

I'm glad that we talk more these days eventhough we only see her during the weekends and holidays.

This post is not enough to show my thanks to the bazillion things you have done for me--for us.

We love you very much.

Old Folks

No comments:
Another similar keyword is on the list of my tasks: assisted living software. This is a computer program especially made to assist people in creating an environment fit for old people. It's nice to know that there are things like these invented to assure home owners to provide the best services to old folks, making sure of a providing them with a comfortable and safe environment.

Bunch of Roses

No comments:
I was really impressed the way the flowers were arranged for Richie's wedding. I'm sure the groom was the one who carefully picked them because he shared that he's into plants. For decorating such a huge place like Fernwood Gardens, purchasing flowers in bulks like wholesale roses is the way to do it.  Companies like FiftyFlowers provides wedding events with wide choices of different types of flowers in whole sale. They offer retty bunches of roses, calla lilies, rose petals, gerbera daisies, hydrangeas, peonies and many more. The flowers are delivered at a below wholesale cost at your doorstep .The flowers are shipped overnight express from the flower farms, where they are cut fresh, processed, and placed in bulk bundles. Buyers also have an option to order flowers in large or small quantities. Plus they also accept made-to-order for bouquets and other types of flowers and plant arrangements.

Girl For A Day

No comments:

As promised, I'll share to you some photos from last Sunday at Richie and Ivy's wedding. The ceremony was held at Fernwood Gardens in Quezon City. I bought a new dress and a peep-toe sandals to match just for the event because I don't have anything in my closet fit to wear in a formal event like this. LOL. I loooove my dress! It's comfy plus I bought it in a specialty store. People at Mint, where I got the dress, said that they only make one piece of every design that they have, so that means I'm the only one who has this particular dress. Über nice!

Anyway, enough raving and more about the wedding. I went there with Gene and Olive. We meet up at Trinoma. It's the first time for the three of us to stroll around Trinoma mall so we lost track of time and arrived a bit late at Fernwood. We missed the bridal march, where Richie sang Forevermore while Ivy walked down the aisle.

Docs Team Gels
(as Bossing would collectively call us, hehe)

There was a small program at the reception. Part of the program gave time for the close friends to give their wishes and share stories about the newlyweds. My favorite among the well-wishers was Richie's twin sister, Ma-Rose. I could tell from Ma-Rose's chosen words that she and Richie were very close and she was happy and sad at the same time. But the highlight of the evening was definitely the AVP about Richie and Ivy's love story. I was sooo kilig on the "How he proposed" part. Really romantic. I was also impressed with the groom's relatives because almost everyone of them rendered a song or two during the program. Now I know where Richie got his great singing voice. It was a long night for the couple and for us, but we left early from the venue because it's a Sunday and everybody had an early meeting the next day. But I'm sure everyone had fun and enjoyed the romantic ambiance of Fernwood.

Congratulations, Richie and Ivy! :)

New Age Welder

No comments:
I have written something about it here, but I don't really know how a plasma cutter works. I did a little research and found out that the cutter was invented during World War II, specifically in the 1960's. The engineers then figured out a powerful tool, more powerful than any commercial welder, which uses high-temperature to cut through metal. But the new tool works more like a saw, and not the ordinary welding machine. A plasma cutter can pass through metals with little or no resistance. The cutter is used to cut huge amounts of metal, therefore helping to produce more aircrafts and other machines during the 60's.

Bizarre

No comments:
There are certain keyword assignments that seems to be inevitable. My blog is not about business but business performance management is amongst the given tasks this week. I've been given a lot of business-related words over the past month. Bizarre, really. Other words are some I've never heard of. Well, you cannot choose what you get so its totally cool.

Management Software

No comments:
Online softwares are like clothes that caters to the different fashion needs of people. The design of the software will depend on the requirements of a particular user. There are software for game enthusiasts, photography, building an online store, etc. But some softwares ensures safety and order to our properties online, like Buildium, LLC's online property management software. The company provides online property management software that helps rental property and association managers work smarter by streamlining tasks from any computer connected online. This only means a more organized online utilization for better internet function. Visit their website at http://www.buildium.com/ for more information about their online management software.

It's In The Bag

No comments:
Celebrities and people from the upper class consider golf as one of the most popular means of relaxation. It builds a strong camaraderie among business partners and bonding times for long-time acquaintances. I don't know anyone who plays golf but I met some who does. Some of them may own an Ogio golf bag, or something from their line of apparels, but I bet they're showing their best effort to be like Tiger Woods.

Silver In Eight Days

2 comments:
Eight days to go before my parents' silver wedding anniversary! I'm such a bad, bad daughter since I do not have any plans for the celebration. If only I have enough money for a nice gift like a day in a Hawaii bed and breakfast, or a trip to Paris, or Boracay. Not in this lifetime, of course, hehe. I asked them twice...or make that thrice if they're planning to renew their vows, but still no reply. Maybe they have their own plans that they do not want me and my brothers to know about. Hmmm...

Bertdey ni Bosstsip

No comments:
I wasn't able to blog over the weekend because of the connection problem they had at the internet shop last Saturday. It was a town-wide glitch because other internet hubs also had a hard time connecting. I was at Richie's wedding yesterday so no blogging time for me too. His bride and the whole ceremony was beautiful. I'll post the pictures within the week.

Oh, before I forget...

Happy Birthday, Sherwin! :)

I suddenly missed checking out mailboxes. I used to have penpals when I was a teenager. Five of them were from Manila, one from Batangas, Cavite and another one from Las Vegas. Writing letters was one of my favorite hobbies. Most of my mail pals were members of the 5 and Up club. Some of them became my writing workshop classmates. I still have their letters, but I don't know if they still use the same address. *sighs* The smell of stamps...

Old Cars For Charity

No comments:
Who would have thought that old car donations can be used to raise funds for charity? Car Angel, a non-profit company, put used cars to good use by selling and raising funds to help less-fortunate kids and teens around the world. Other forms of donation are also accepted by the Car Angel Ministry like used boats, motorcycles, trucks, etc. The ministry also use the funds to create videos for kids and teens. Here's a sample:

Mama Update

1 comment:
My mother is finally A-OK. Expenses in the hospital were covered by the health card, thank God. I don't know if it falls under the high risk life insurance category, but it sure helped a lot. Mama was able to go back to her job yesterday. My father and I asked her if she can take the whole week off since she still seems uneasy, but she insisted that she should attend to her students to prepare them for exams next week.

Ten Questions

No comments:
I was reading random blogs from the Entrecard campaign window and came across BlogsWeLuv's Ten Questions With YOU link. The authors of the website, Mike and Tish, prepared general questions for all the bloggers who wanted to participate. I am fond of answering blog meme's, but these set of questions definitely deserve a lot of thinking.
  1. Describe your blog in five sentences or less.
  2. Link us to one post from your blog that best defines who you are.
  3. What sets you apart from other bloggers?
  4. When and how did you first discover blogging?
  5. What is your biggest pet peeve related to blogging or the internet?
  6. Name one plugin, blogging widget, or service that you can’t live without.
  7. If you could choose anyone, living or dead, to write a guest post for your blog, who would it be and why?
  8. How has blogging made you a better person?
  9. What are your tips for becoming a better blogger?
  10. Name one great blog that you read on a regular basis. What makes it unique?
I will post my answers this weekend :)

PC's Not So Good Yet

No comments:
Our PC is still not doing great. This really sucks, especially during these past few weeks because my brother have a lot of term papers to submit. It has been a week since our hired technician checked it. The programs kept on shutting down by itself whenever my brother types a document or working on a presentation. He said that he will drop by as soon as he discovered where the problem was coming. But he warned me that it might be the RAM. I don't know if ours needs something like an IBM memory or faster to resolve the problem, but it will definitely be a pain, yet again, in our budget. *sighs* computers... computers...

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

No comments:
Christmas lanterns or Parol is one of the most popular christmas decors in the Philippines. It comes with wide variety or colors, shapes and sizes. I was amazed seeing this man, in mid-day, it the middle of a highway, trotting to find customers. The highway is some 2 miles long, and I bet it took him over two hours before he was able to find customers and sell his Parol where this road led: a market.

6 comments:
Thank you very much to all the bloggers who dropped by. But I am so glad to know that an internet supahstar found time to browse my humble blog...

Sir John Chow is the owner of one of the most popular websites in the internet today: JohnCow.com. It's a blog that teaches other bloggers how to make a fortune from their blogs. He has thousands and thousands of RSS Subscribers and a few clicks on his blog costs a fortune.
Thank you Sir for dropping by.

edited, December 4:

Judging from the comments, I mixed up the site owners of the two websites. *toinks* My bad there. Anyhoo, the REAL John Chow (JohnChow.com) did visit my blog:

Again, thank you Sir for dropping by and thanks to everyone who wrote their comments :)

Check First Online

No comments:
Are you looking for a vizio 42 inch LCD? The mall is definitely the place to be if you are in search of where you can purchase a good-quality TV. The Holiday season is here and going to malls will definitely be like stepping into a battle field. Before you gear up and head to the mall, you may first check online where is the best place to purchase a TV or any other appliances you fancy. Krillion.com can help you in locating the best stores with the best deals in your area. From brands are available to comparing prices of items from different stores, you'll be saving a lot of time since you already know what to expect when you arrive and check the item. Cool, eh?

Five Questions For Bloggers

No comments:
1. Why did you start a blog?
Blog is an upgrade of my journal. I've kept a journal since 6th grade. A blog is also a great way to know what's happening to my friends since all of them maintains a blog.

2. Do you have a blogmother/blogfather?
Blogmother? Blogfather? Interesting... Should I be blog-tized first before I can have a blogmother/father? Heeeee heeee...

3. Has it helped/hurt/had no effect on your professional life?
Helped, because I met a lot of new friends and keeps on piling up everyday. Hurt, because my first blog was hacked to the point that another person played god with my thoughts and edited it for me to sound rude to the readers.

4. Do your 'real world' friends know that you blog?
I guess.

5. Do you have a blog crush?
John Mayer's blog is on top of my list :)

*Hikab

Mama's in the hospital right now. I just asked Papa if I can have some time off to blog and fullfil my assigments for this week. I haven't had a decent sleep and I'm still prepping up my brains and heating up my "writer" engine. I checked both my mailboxes and I started an hour ago and still I'm just staring at all the laid assignments. *yawns*

Sorry, but I just have to let this out: HOSPITALS GIVES ME THE CREEPS!
