Off to Maru

I will be belting out some tunes in a while at Maru KTV for my good friend's post-birthday celebration. My other friends are just finishing up some tasks before we leave. Most of the invited peeps are already on their way at the moment. I bet Maru's jam-packed today because it's payday.

Cookie Compilation

Thirty minutes before my Dad arrives and I still am finding ways to create the best compilation of cookie recipes I can find online. It's my cousins school project and she's been begging me for days because their library archive is limited. Of course, all of her classmates would be using what their library can provide, so she decided to bug her very internet-savvy older cousin for some help. I found seven, and I need to find three more. This cookie research is making me hungry, LOL.

Snap

Deteriorating.

Some parts are clear and simple. Others are faded and complicated. People making you feel unimportant like car parts in junk shops is a mallet straight in the head, especially when an ample amount of your time and energy is wasted by making this other person feel important all the time. 

Wrong thought. 

Blank Sunday

Online for two hours and still not in the mood to write. I spent the last 120 minutes browsing and typing words that comes to mind at Google. Online super sales, latest New York Times best seller, diet pill reviews (for my aunt who I am helping on her thesis research), and a bunch of other random words that my lazy mind could come up with. 

I have had two cups of Mocha Latte, two Dewberry Cookies and Cream tarts and a piece of brownie. See, I am not that hungry. My brain can't function that well without sweets and caffeine. Sugar will kick in a few minutes or less...

Surf

A lot of business resumes have been sent to a colleague. He and his partners will be trying their luck on a business venture that their group enjoys: surfing. Internet surfing was the first thing that came to mind when he talked about it over the weekend. But it's the real deal. I said La Union is one of the places to consider if they finalized everything.

Trinoma Tuesday

6pm. Tuesday. Still at the Office. I sent an SMS to Sir Toti D. inquiring what time will Armi and and the boys will be playing at Trinoma. I visited her blog a couple of hours ago, and her Tuesday post included a reminder that Up Dharma Down will be playing at the mall later that day.

Sir Toti: 6pm. first band playing now.

Me: Ah ok. Thanks po. Sana umabot pa ako. Paalis pa lang po ako ng Makati, hehe.

I decided to take the MRT at Buendia station since Ayala station is like a battlefield during rush hour.

Sir Toti: Abot naman, 3rd pa sila. If you'll take the MRT, abot. But if car, I don't know.

Me: MRT ü.

I took a brief bus ride from Ayala Ave to Buendia station. It was a good call because the station is opposite of what Ayala station would have been: short lines and more comfortable. I checked my phone Inbox again expecting my father's reply on my SMS earlier that afternoon about me going home a bit late. But this was the new text message:

Sir Toti: Mvd them to 4th for u.

Wow.

*Fangirl speechless*

I came at the venue ten minutes before Up Dharma Down's turn on the stage. The Trinoma crowd was a great crowd. Our kind of crowd as Armi described it on her blog. They played four new songs from Bipolar.

The band made it official an announced before their last song that their sophie album will be out on October 28th 24th.

Wishing For October

I am literally crossing out the dates of September for it to end as fast as it can. Well, the real reason behind this rush are these two videos in particular.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year will be gracing the theaters worldwide starting October 24th. The Philippines often have movies premiering a day or two earlier than the official opening, so I am guessing I will be spending my day inside the theater on the 22nd and the 23rd. The soundtrack will be released a week before the opening so I will have seven days to enjoy the music of this phenomenal hit before being awed by Disney's biggest production of the year. Here's a sneak peek of the movie.



Up Dharma Down will be releasing their Sophomore masterpiece, Bipolar, this October. Four years after the success of Fragmented, the four musical geniuses who changed the Philippine Indie scene are back with their second offering. The band's vocalist is generous enough to give me a copy of the lyrics of a song which will be in the unreleased album. If you want to have more inside look at the making of Bipolar, check out Armi's blog here. I heard they will be releasing 1,000 copies of exclusively designed album jacket on the album launch.

The album launch will also showcase a special documentary about the band called On Either Side. Here's a sneak peek of the documentary by Keith Tan.

Gap

Chicago resumes and four others are on my Inbox today. There are some assignments that I have missed and some blog entries to read on in an hour. I haven't been online for the past two days, and it seems like everything had piled up. So little time, so much to do.

Gossip Girl Cast Goes Back To High School

I am a huge, huge fan of Gossip Girl. It seemed like forever since the last season. The original 21 episodes was shortened to 13 because of the writer's strike. But these months of hiatus proved that the newbie stars made it big after that first season as Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and other cast members became paparazzi and entertainment blog faves.

Season 02 started last week with an episode chock-full of twists and surprises. To celebrate the comeback of S, B, N, D and that mysterious voice known as Gossip Girl (voiced by Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars fame), here are the cast and their photo from their High School yearbook.

Awwww Moment

Charcoal and Kitty enjoying a rain-less morning. These two are inseperable. The back of our TV set is their favorite spot; maybe there was something about that day that made Charcoal decide to have Kitty play outside and enjoy the sun. :)

Nth Time

This week, my cousin and my brother have asked me the same question: how to lose weight. I asked them why, of all people, I was their favorite when it comes to these kinds of queries. They said they do this out of habit since I am the first person they see in the morning. Both of them would often rant if they could just give me at least half of their body weight to do them some good. If only they would just change their 8am menu from burgers to something lighter, then they would see the difference. Probably.
