Lewis Carroll's beloved classic is again coming to the big screen, Tim Burton style.
According to Firstshowing.net, the movie is set to be the continuation to Disney's 1951 adaptation, with Alice returning to Wonderland without any memory of her first visit. The site added that film will be a combination of live-action and performance-capture CGI that will be presented fully in 3D. I cannot remember the last time I saw the 1951 version, but the teaser trailer seemed to stick with the vision set by Disney, only darker and creepier.
A Tim Burton film isn't complete without Johnny Depp. This time, Depp puts himself in the shoes of the infamous Mad Hatter. Helena Bonham-Carter (who also played Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter films), on the other hand, is The Queen Of Hearts. Anne Hathaway's character, The White Queen, is not really a part of Alice in Wonderland but I think being this adaptation being a sequel gives justice to her character in the story.
Newcomer Australian actress Mia Wasikowska will shrink, stretch, fall, and stumble as she gives life to the story's main hero, Alice.
The movie will be in theaters on March 05, 2010.*photo from USA Today
