The year he released his best selling album was the year I was born.I was four when my Tito Herman started playing his Thriller cassette tape, among other albums every morning. He would say in a DJ-kind of way the title of the song, followed by "The King Of Pop, Michael Jackson!" with such gusto every time the track shifts. He's as old as his idol, and he too never outgrew wearing bitin pair of jeans. I haven't seen my Tito today, but I want to ask him how he felt after hearing the sad news of Michael Jackson's passing.
The World Wide Web burst with articles here and there the minute the news broke. One audio-streaming social networking site I am a DJ at suddenly started streaming songs from Jackson 5 to "P.Y.T" to "Blood On The Dance Floor" every second having messages like "RIP to the King Of Pop" to "You will be missed".
I never donned bitin pants or leather jackets or white socks or sequined gloves. But I sure am a fan of the man's moves and music.
Admit it, a little part of you mourns right now.
