from Tumblr

  • Got this photo from some random Tumblr site. I pretty much spent half my life saying “I Can’t”. It’s inevitable, especially when your confidence level is more on the other side of the pole. I can’t help it. See, I told you, saying it is unavoidable.
  • Inspiration eludes me. I’ve been bumping into him once in a while whenever I tripped or crossed an unknown path, but it seems that he’s going to play this crazy game of hide-and-seek with me.
  • What do you do when someone from your Facebook friends passed away? Do you delete them?
  • No matter what I do, everyone will always be two or even ten steps ahead of me.
  • I started playing the guitar again. Yesterday, I tried playing Katy Perry’s Thinking Of You while following an instructional video on YouTube. My left forefinger is a little sore right now, but what the heck. I had fun. Come payday, I will ask the guitar master if he could replace the strings of my guitar and tune it for me. *fingers crossed*
  • Cream puffs are the ultimate cheap thrill. I like the ones at The French Baker. They sell it for Php23 a puff!

Almost Done?

No comments:
Wow. It's the end of August. I cannot believe we are almost done with 2009, with only 4 months left! Time does fly faster this time because I haven’t done anything. What I meant was something adventurous like how my 2008 was. I pretty much did a lot of outdoorsy things then with the help of the Docs Team with the road trips and mini-tours. Oh, aside from the random road trips, we’ve also had tons of videoke sessions last year. I know it’s nothing extreme that would require us a medical assisting certification of some sort, but all of trips and the singing marathons were FUN.

Wordless Wednesday – Vintage Sugarfree

No comments:

vintage Sugarfree interview candid shot

Not so wordless today. Here's an old photo I took of Sugarfree with their original members' Jal, Ebe and Mitch. This is at the EMI Office. I interviewed the guys for an article I wrote for a now defunct indie magazine. The magazine's official photographer was with me at the time, but I brought my own cam for and took candid shots of the band, like this one. Speaking of Sugarfree, the band will be having their 10th Anniversary concert, dubbed as Dekada, at the Music Museum on August 28 & 29. That's this Friday and Saturday.

Home Business

No comments:

Six years; I still remember the first time I clocked in and sit on my own desk. “It’s official: I am part of the workforce.”, I muttered. According to law, the legal retiring age is 60 years old. That’s a bazillion jeepney rides and clocking-in for me. But I have been considering putting up an extra income-generating business that I can operate at home. Been researching on how to put up an internet cafe for a while now. I think that’s a great business since almost everyone knows how to use the internet nowadays. I also included researching about Shelf Corporations, Corporate Credit, and Aged Corporations for some basic knowledge on securing loans and managing credits. One of the top search results is EZUnsecured.com.

EZUnsecured.com can get Financing even in this market - They are GOOD at what they do but they are NOT cheap - Get ready to break out your wallet and pay around 10% as a Success Fee on the Financing they obtain for you.

Of course, with business, one must take risks and invest. Though the deals the company offers are not cheap, it is guaranteed to help potential clients on their financial endeavors. Visit the website now for more details!

Meet Jacob Black - Latest New Moon Trailer

No comments:

Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob? Alright, alright, Team Edward it is. But wait 'till you see the newest trailer from the much anticipated second installment of the Twilight Saga: New Moon, you might be thinking twice:

This trailer was the one played in the cinemas before Bandslam over its opening weekend. H-O-T trailer! And definitely so much better than the first film. New Moon is the book that I really enjoyed reading from the four books of the series. I’ve had doubts before if 17-year-old Taylor Lautner would be able to play the part. But this guy is really serious about playing the werewolf's part and buffed himself up. Look at those 6-packs!

Balloons and Kulit

1 comment:
I am looking forward to see Pixar's Up, opening this week.

Much buzz was created by this movie early this year as it became the first animated film to be screened in the history of the Cannes Film Festival. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 97% rating as critics showered the funniest movie Pixar had ever produced. Reading positive reviews about the film made me even more excited. One article said that this movie has a lot of soul because of the inspiring portrayal of how it is to grow old and be able to fulfill one's dream.

My mom fondly call the kid in the movie, Kulit. We had the chance to see Up's full trailer before Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince.

The idea of flying using thousands of balloons is one of the craziest form of flight I have ever seen. :D

Fall 2009 TV Premieres

1 comment:

September is the month for the big premieres of Television series in the U.S. I researched about the shows and its corresponding premiere dates and found out that most of them are two weeks away. Yehoo!

Starting today, I will be giving a run-down of my favorite shows. Click on the name of the show for my post about it's up coming premiere episodes, season spoilers and previews. I am particularly excited about the up coming seasons of the following shows:

Another thing I am ecstatic about September's shower of season premieres are these three new shows that I cannot wait to add on my HD queue:
  • Glee (Fox), September 9 9:00 PM/ET
  • Vampire Diaries (The CW), September 10 8:00 PM/ET
  • Beautiful Life, The (The CW), September 16 9:00 PM/ET

I know there are a lot of shows but I have been particularly fond of the aforementioned shows. Any suggestions on what to add on my list of TV series to spend my couch potato time?

Favoured Deductions

No comments:
Watching tons of series and reading a lot of books about detectives can be addictive. Conan Doyle's novels about Sherlock Holme's, MacGyver reruns and episodes of CSI are my favorites. DNA testing may not be a part of Sherlock Holmes routine in solving cases, but its classic take with the art of deduction is quite endearing. Angus McGayver's adventures is a huge part of my childhood for I use to spend my 7pm's with my mom and dad while watching episodes of this mid-80's and early 90's series. CSI is the newest on my list. Though most the scenes are gruesome, the modern way of deducing to solve the sometimes seemingly impossible cases.

Wednesday Cable Disruption?

1 comment:
Good morning! Starting the day early by researching about noxycut. Blog tasks were supposed to be done last night, but the Internet connection is so darn slow. It was crazy! A web page takes 15 to 20 minutes loading time. Normally, I accessed five pages at once, so do the math.

I tweeted my frustration with the slow connection, and my friend Candy replied and said that there were some major cable disruption last night, hence the slow connection.

I wonder if anybody had the same experience last night.

Time check: 4.45 AM. That means I need to stop writing (and Twittering) now and get ready for work.

Laters! :)

Pinoy Losers

No comments:
Saw a plug earlier today of the Philippine franchise of The Biggest Loser. The clip was a long line of people that would definitely need some dose of weight loss supplements, with hopeful faces that they would make the cut. It's another reality show that features overweight contestants. The goal of each of the participants is to loose weight by doing the challenges like gym routines, strict diets, etc. One thing about reality shows here in the Philippines is that a lot of people consider it as a chance for them to be a celebrity.

Not so wordless today. I took this shot, using my phone, while waiting for sunrise at my friend Joy’s place in Tagaytay. I’ve been using my Motorola V3i phone for three years now, and still, it gives me love :)

FYI: I did not edit this shot :D

Things I Loathe About TV

No comments:
Believe it or not, a lot of my life's time is spent in front of the computer. Of course, that's inevitable since I work for a Software company, plus I do posts for various clients on my blog. Don't get me wrong, I also have this habit of spending my idle time watching TV. Before this buzz about the Internet began, I am a true-blue couch potato. There are just some things on TV that irks me like
  • ads about the best diet pills one can get, with other benefits on the side like whitening effect and having your bangs grow an extra inch with every take
  • Asianovela adaptations
  • too much Judy Ann Santos ads
  • never-ending soon-to-be members of the running political parties for next year's national elections while concealing it as a pseudo-public service ads

Asian Pop

No comments:
My two brothers have been crazy about Korean artists these past few weeks. Been hearing a lot of songs from girl groups' 2NE1 and Wonder Girls around the house every weekend mornings. I don't know, but there is something about songs I do not understand that I find creepy. Though cryptic to my ears, I think the beats of the songs from these formidable Asian girl groups are pretty darn neat.

Again and again

No comments:
Found mesothelioma among the queued blog assignments. I wonder why this term keeps coming back into my Inbox when I have written about it a couple of times. Might be sending an e-mail to the particular client that gave the assignment to find out why. Different angles on the subject might not be enough. Maybe adding pictures and diagrams would help, perhaps?

One, two three...seven...nine..

Bart kept on counting as hours of the morning slipped away without him noticing. What a busy weekend it must be, as their 30-year-old farm upgrades its vast cattle supplies. A quarter-month's delay with the deliveries is sure a pain when all you want to have getting the farm running smoothly. He could hear cows mooing in a corner, bidding him goodbye as an expected buyer loads them in threes on his truck.

Manila Design Week Launch

No comments:

I went straight to Bonifacio High Street after my part time teaching job yesterday to meet my friend Mayee. We had a deal that we’d watch Up Dharma Down and Taken By Cars play at The Manila Design Week launch party. It had been months the last time I saw Mayee, Armi and the rest of UDD plus it would be the first time I would see Sarah and the rest of TbC play live. We both are early for the 9pm gig so we spent the idle time playing at TimeZone and going around BHS while chatting out hearts out.

Moi and Mayee :D

Mayee and I snapped a few pictures with the newly-painted murals as our backdrop. The murals were painted by the participating graphic artist at the event. Bumped into a few celebs walking around the event like Gaby Dela Merced, Tim Yap with his QTV11 crew, Zach Lucero, Ping Medina and Victor Basa.

After the three-hour wait, the program finally started with a break-dance battle. I do not know if that is the proper term for it, but the resident DJ played some 20-minute-long mix while four baggy-jean-wearing guys danced like they don't have a single bone in their body.

Techy Romantics was the first band that started the rockin’ night. The hyped hosts asked one of the band members to give the audience an idea of how they sound like.

New Wave + Techno + Emo = Techy Romantics

That mainly summed up how Dondi (the band member with a Mac as instrument) described their music. But it was a lot more. I was blown away after hearing their first song. Click here to listen to some of their songs to see what I mean.

Camyl [Techy Romantics] Camyl of Techy Romantics

Taken by Cars was the next band. Been listening to their album for months now. Great set by Sara and the rest of the band. I had fun jumping and singing along to Uh-Oh and Shapeshifter. :D

Up Dharma Down closed the event with five songs. Jeric of Sleepwalk Circus take over the drum duties (We miss you, Ean Mayor! :P). Great set, as always.

The launch party ended around 11:30pm, but Mayee and I hung around a bit and talked to Armi and the rest of UDD, members of Taken By Cars, and with the Everywhere We Shoot team led by Garovs and Ryan.

Congratulations to Manila Design Week for holding a great event. The Manila Design Week is a 7-day celebration with different events around the metro. Click here for the complete MDW schedule.

YinYang Twins and a White Dude

No comments:

The day is almost done and I am grateful that I was able to accomplish most of the writing tasks today. The windy night is lurring me to sleep. It was nothing compared to orlando vacations, but the calming blows keeps me still. I can't wait to lie down on my newly-changed bed sheet and pillow cases. My mother did some rounds to each and every room in the house and decided to change the curtains and bed sheets. Talk about early-morning exercise, hehe.

Since I started sharing about what's happening here at home, let me introduce you the three latest family members. We do not have a proper name for them yet, but we fondly call them the YinYang twins and a White Dude. :D

Part-time Saturdays

No comments:

I am starting to miss my usual 8am coffee and Twitter Saturday mornings. Today will be my fourth meeting with my students from the local State University here in our town. The lessons are rather slow because its not only them who are trying to get used to the idea that they’re spending the usual weekend at school instead of just being at home slacking and taking the time off after a loooong work week. I am not complaining, though.

After a quick research about phentermine for one of my pending weekend blog tasks, there were new ones that came in my Inbox. Writing short articles always has been my part-time job where I spent my Saturdays in front of the computer while writing my heart out. But I am starting to get the hang of this new teaching job. I had this fear that my students will make fun of me. Sort of bully me. Yeah, I know it’s the craziest idea, but I after being with them more than once, I realized that they are not like that.

Late Night Stretch

No comments:

It amazes me how some people who’ve had a long day at work will still have the energy to go to the gym. A handy equipment like Kettlebell would I think do the trick, but busting moves involving all the muscles of your body? Doesn’t it make you the more tired from a long day? There are people I know who even gained weight after a few months spending after-hours in the treadmill. But there are others who’ve lost a lot of weight.

Wazap with that? :P

Now On Tumblr

Capture

I created my Tumblr page a couple of weeks ago. I will be sharing my photos and my favorite movie quotes on the page. Of course, I’ll be sharing those kinds of updates on this blog since this blog is my first love. Hehe. My latest entry is one of the photos I took when President Cory Aquino’s cortege passed by Ayala Avenue going to The Manila Cathedral. I will be posting more pictures from Monday’s event in a while. Seeing footages of that sunny afternoon on TV gives me Goosebumps because I was a part of something big. Something that brought change to our country.

More photos in the coming days. I just had to finish most of the blog tasks I’ve missed over the weekend.

Vegas, Baby!

No comments:

Hoyess, haha. Needed to just blurt that out after watching an old episode of Prison Break. It was when the Burrows and the rest of the gang, sans Michael, went to Las Vegas to stalk a card holder. The episode did not feature the luxuries of Vegas vacations, but the characters did the things most tourist would do; gamble and party hard!

I suddenly realized that the series is over. No episodes to look forward to. :|

Have you heard about malignant Mesothelioma ? This is the first time I've heard about it. Searched the term and read a little about it. Exposure to Asbestos is the main cause of this illness. People who are exposed to this substance is the primary victims of this disease, and would only be evident after 20 to 30 years of being exposed. Weight loss, fatigue, shortness of breath are some of the symptoms of Mesothelioma. Click on the link for more information about this disease.

Coffee no.

No comments:

Ending the day researching about metal tiles and formulating questions for Saturday’s lesson. Wanting to drink another cup of coffee, which would make it my sixth today. It sometimes is frustrating when you have a lot to do and you just cannot find the right pace to accomplish everything. Unexplainable as it seems, but my reflexes are working half-a-second slower than the normal person does. Tasks that takes 3 minutes to do would be a 15-minute job. Do the math.

Maybe its the coffee?
