I still am overwhelmed with the immensity of the events of the past days. A lot have been said, written and photographed and I will be writing about it soon.

I know a lot of us have been doing our best to help those who are badly affected by typhoon Ondoy. Tomorrow’s concert at the MegaTent in Pasig is one way to contribute. This event is sponsored by NU 107 and the Megatent Volunteers. All you need is to bring a survival pack (inclusive of 2 bottles of water, 2 canned goods, 2 noodles, and biscuits) OR Php100 as entrance fee to enjoy the music of Urbandub, Spongecola, Hale, Taken By Cars, Techyromantics, Imago, Mayonnaise, Stonefree, Zach Lucero and a whole lot of other acts all for a great cause: to extend help to the victims of Ondoy.

Gig will start at 2pm onwards.

For more information about Raise the Roof: A Benefit Concert for the Victims of Ondoy, you may contact these numbers: (02) 985-36-90 & (02) 387-94-84.

Starting Sunday

Lesson

Starting the day with blog tasks have been my routine everyone in the past few months. I have mortgage life insurance and three more to write about today. Plus I need to research about the lesson for next week. I am teaching two subjects every Saturday at the nearby State University. I am excited that we only have three weeks left and I am done.

Gloomy

It’s starting to feel like were in Europe around here. The country had been experiencing non-stop rains for the past months and the days when the sun came out can be counted by fingers. I’ve been having thoughts on what to put on this year’s photo holiday cards and I am pretty sure I might incorporate some scenes from the rainy days we’ve had. That would be something new for the holidays, don’t you think? Never saw something as unique as Christmas themed as rainy day. Interesting, ‘eh?

Counting It Soon

No comments:

I cannot remember how many times I have written about weight loss pill on this blog. This made me realize how health conscious people are these days. A huge percentage of TV ads are products that promises consumers on how to get rid of those unwanted fats. There are people around me who share this concern. Stacking the fridge with fat-burning drink and constantly ranting about their slow progress on the treadmill were the evident signs. I might have the same concerns soon since I am starting to gain weight these days.

Pile Up

No comments:

I am not really a fan of this particular week. There is something about the weather that can really drive one crazy. One day its scorching hot, and then a downpour on the next. My body’s immune system have not been too friendly with the bipolar weather because I, most of the time, have been sneezing and coughing on most days. The weather goes arm in arm with stress that the best acne treatments won't do the trick. :|

Blog Number Four

No comments:
I am working on a new blog which will be up very soon. I just need to think of a name for it. I’ll be buying the new blog its own domain name and register it to different online directories. There are few things I need to take note of for this new blog: the topics I will be posting and a new schedule for me to accommodate all for blogs. Having a blog is a lot of work, yet alone having four. Everything 90s is what’s been coming up whenever I scribble down ideas for the blog’s main theme. Most of the things I like when it comes to movies, music and books all came from that era so that would be a great start.

Twitter Releases New Terms Of Service

"Twitter is fun, but it's not useful"

Those were the opening quotes written by one of the brilliant guys who invented the phenomenon that is Twitter on the official Twitter blog. Critics may generally think that it is nonsense, but admit it, Twitter has evolved from a 140-character, micro-blogging tool to the most-widely used medium of communication online in such a short time. With its rapid increase in popularity, the people behind Twitter releases a new Terms Of Service highlighting Advertising, Ownership, APIs, and SPAM issues.

Lazy Sunday

No comments:

What to do on a lazy day like this? Aside from researching about HAVC filters for a client, I have nothing to do. We just had lunch, a good one since my father cooked his special Nilagang Baboy and mother bought some ice cream for dessert. Thought she should’ve bought the strawberry flavor than the usual chocolate-flavored one we often have. But it was really sweet of her. :D

Thinking of raiding my DVD collection of something I can watch to spend the remaining hours of weekend. It’s raining and I am too lazy to go out. Any movie suggestions I could watch online?

Paramore Covers Kings Of Leon’s Use Somebody

Fresh from the oven!

I spotted this video on YouTube a few minutes ago. This is Haley and the rest of Paramore doing an acoustic take on Kings Of Leon’s Use Somebody. Haley’s voice is flawless and this was a fresh take on KoL’s most popular hit. Man, with that voice, this girl can sing anything!

Kids and Outdoors

1 comment:

Gone are the days were kids play games that requires a lot of physical effort. Hide and seek, jumping rope, or just simply running around and playing tag with friends seems to elude the streets nowadays. Kids are either in front of the television watching cartoons or playing video games. Television shows for kids comprises of either super heroes of sci-fi characters that teaches them how to kick butt and nothing more. Video games, on the other hand, only requires the tots to use their fingers and a little bit of their arms to succeed in the game and nothing more. And these gadgets, like the famous XBox doesn't come in pennies too. They are worth thousands of their parents’ hard-earned money.

If only these kids would experience the joys and the freedom of a real outdoor game, I bet they’ll be leaving their living rooms and computer shops.

Grown-up Party

No comments:

This year, I’ll be attending my first “grown-up” party. Our company’s annual Christmas party will be holding a formal-prom-like theme where everyone is required to wear cocktail dresses and tuxedos. It sort of nerve-wracking since I’ve never been on this kind of party pretty much all my life. The only idea I have about these kinds of parties are the ones I see on the television series, where everything from the venue to the attendees tried their best to look elegant and classy. I am a part of this year’s party committee and raised my concern about the possibility of wearing a slacks-slash-jacket because I know that I suck at wearing a dress. But the committee head explained that the girls should wear a cocktail dress since we’ve been wearing jeans and slacks the whole year. :|

With that rule, I think I need to start looking for my dress as early as now. Then I would practice wearing it before the party for me to be well-adjusted with the new ensemble. I shall google some pictures of the styles that I would want to wear for the party and post it here.

Wish me luck.

Treasured Multiply Message

No comments:

Fell in love with Up Dharma Down’s Sana the first time I heard it. That night, I was told that the song was from their yet-to-be-released second album and it was the first time they played the song live. With no hesitations, I immediately asked for the lyrics after their set.

"Sure", she replied with a smile.

Armi_Sana

I forgot about the night I asked Armi for the song's lyrics. Then one morning, I literally cried when I saw this on my Multiply Inbox last year (September 02, 2008 to be exact); As Promised as subject with Armi's avatar, and the lyrics of the song with this note:

Sayo muna ito ha. Ikaw lang ang pinadalhan ko nito.

I cannot remember if I said Thank You enough. I still am speechless every time I see this on my Inbox.

Thank You, Armi.
