If having all of the albums of an artist or a band who rarely release their album in our country doesn’t indicate that I am one of their biggest fan, then I don’t know what will.

Yes, I do not download my Dashboard Confessional albums; I order and buy them from Nick of the band’s official store. I think the last album released here in the Philippines was Dusk & Summer (where the song Stolen was from), and the next albums after were not.
My affair with the band started when I was in college. MTV was still ubiquitous. It was one late night and Alternative Nation was on. The VJ was telling something about a new band inching away from the independent scene and introduced the featured video of the day: Screaming Infidelities. I remember having to wait for MTV’s rerun of the show just to hear that song again. It’s one of those songs that definitely gives me butterflies every time I hear it.
The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most album wasn’t available locally at that time, so I had to depend on online audio streams just to hear Screaming Infidelities. There were a couple of radio stations here in Manila that started playing Dashboard Confessional songs later that year, but of course it did not receive as much airplays as it would’ve.
Nine years and eight albums later, here I am still awestruck whenever I hear Chris’ melancholy song writing.
I saw the ticket prices for the band’s concert and by the looks of it, I can only manage to buy Bronze. Maybe if I am such a bad daughter and it wouldn’t kill me to see my family starve for a week, then maybe I can get my hands on those VIP tickets.
But I will keep my fingers crossed and the hope that there is some magical way for me to watch the concert and maybe meet Chris Carrabba and the rest of the band.
Wish me luck? *fingers tightly crossed*
