Home Repairs

No comments:
I overheard my father scribbling a long list that seemed endless. He would randomly say 'door knobs', ‘floor boards’, 'broken dresser' and 'bathroom sink' while continuing his writing his list in between. I thought of ordering something like the bathroom sinks in American Home Plus. It might cost a fortune, but it’s one step to lessen my father’s house repair tasks.

John Mayer Live at the Mall Of Asia Concert Grounds On October 01, 2010

No comments:

John Mayer in Manila!

It had been 5 minutes. Make that 10. All I did was stare at this poster. And that date:

10.01.2010

it’s like popping out of the screen. A reminder that one of my most anticipated concert of this lifetime will be happening this Friday. I am happy to say that I was lucky to have secured a ticket for this show. It’s not the best seat in the house, but I still am blessed that I will be at John Mayer’s first (and probably his last, but I hope not) concert here in Manila. This concert is already long overdue since Filipino fans had been expecting Mr. Mayer since May of this year. I wrote this entry before on where to buy tickets for John Mayer’s Manila concert. His management never had the official statement as to why the concert was canceled then. But the heck with that; the important thing is it’s finally happening.

Excitement is not enough to describe how I feel right now. I cannot imagine those lucky, well-to-do people who’ll have the privilege to watch John Mayer close enough to be showered by his sweat. Who will really have the chance to see how expressive his eyes are whenever he sings. I know they’ll be huge screens at the concert, but there is of course a huge difference being on the midst of one of the most-respected guitar player in history.

Been watching a lot of his videos on YouTube and listening to his albums for days now. It’s my sort of ‘review’ for the concert. Of all his songs, I would personally want to hear him play this song live:

Safest way to get cash advance? Try requesting for it after accomplishing a huge project, or closing a deal with a client. Timing is always important with issues involving money. Planning on how to approach the right people for cash advance is another thing to consider. You like this people to be in a good mood when you present your request, right? :)

Time

No comments:

IWC has great selections of different watches, perfect for my father. He’s into collecting different kinds of watch, each of them telling time the way what time he wanted the particular watch to have. The first watch he owned was sync with the clock right above their school hall. The second was the same as how the minutes run on my mother’s watch. It had been that way since, like how their souls have been sync by fate.

Fall TV Is Here!

No comments:

YES! My favorite TV shows from the U.S. will be back in a few days! After months of hiatus and even some of them I wasn’t even sure that they’ll be returning for another run, Series season premieres are just around the corner :D Here are the show’s that I am looking forward to seeing their fresh episodes in a few days:

  • Glee. New Directions may need the help of directory submission services to boost their club’s popularity this season. Last season ended in a sour note as Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and the rest of the Gleeks did not win the coveted Regionals trophy. This calls for new choir members! Filipino Gleeks has something to look forward to as Charice guest stars as Sunshine Corazon.
  • Life Unexpected. A few months back, I was saddened by a rumor that this show will not be having a second season. Ending up having butterflies in my stomach after each and every episode of Season 01 sort of made me attached with Lux, Kate, and Baze. Good thing, all was just a rumor.
  • The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon Cooper for the win! Doctor Cooper had me when he showed up at a Halloween party as The Doppler Effect in Season 01. The crazy mix of Physics and its mind-boggling theory with the casts’ comical timing made me begging for more. Season 04 for the win!
  • Gossip Girl. Confession: I am only watching and sticking to this show because I started it from it’s first season three years ago. The past two seasons’ became a bit of a drag. But I saw the preview of Serena and Blair in Paris for their new season’s pilot episode. Interesting.

Numb hands. It's almost 12mn and I still have an article about blackhead remover to write about. Maybe I’ll just stick with looking for possible references for this assignment. I might ruin the article if I’ll start writing about it now. Not this time when I can barely type and think of other words to fill the 1000-word requirement. The feature article is due this weekend and I still have plenty of time filtering what should be included.

Writer out!

Not Pimples

No comments:

A friend of mine scolded me once. That was two years ago. He said the term ‘pimple’ is only for High school girls. The correct term is Acne. Those crazy bumps that appears on your forehead, on your chin and worst, on your nose has a proper name. Let me reiterate: it's Acne. The best acne products might be someone’s best friend if these skin blemish appears on the day of an important meeting or the day of your first date, but one thing is certain: having Acne is not fun to have.

Sunday Morning

No comments:
Hanging out under the mango tree at our mini-garden have been a Sunday morning habit. My mother loves this place in our home. She starts her day sitting there while my father prepares her breakfast. She's awake as early as 5am. I, on the other hand, would normally join them around 7am with my laptop. I would join them for breakfast before I write something about propionly l carnitine or any other topics clients wants to put up on my blog. My mother would share about what he dreamt the night before or anything that she suddenly remembers. Her stories would be as vivid as something about her memories of her friends when she was in high school to her dreaming about her mother. She would say how much she misses hanging out with her friends and how sometimes it scares her that her mother would appear on her dreams, as if giving her some sort of warning. I secretly watch her while she sits silently on her favorite spot at our mini-garden. She would sometimes have frustration and worry written all over her face. But my favorite part is whenever she smiles, as if she remembers something funny or embarrassing.

Car Blings

No comments:

A friend of mine just bought his new car. I know him as an “accessories” type of guy; from his cell phone to his laptop – name it, everything he as is somewhat accessorized in their own little way. I was talking to him via chat the other night, and our topic? You guessed it; where can he purchase the best car accessories for his new ride. He’s a busy guy so he doesn’t have time to go around and shop for his car blings, so I suggested purchasing the blings online. I was researching for a client related to my friend’s concern and I thought the website has products perfect for his needs. I recommended he should visit CarID’s website. CarID.com is one of the Web sites to visit for car accessories. It is the online automotive accessories superstore, based in Edison, NJ. The company has been in custom and OEM car accessories business since 2003 offering its customers automotive products for both interior and exterior custom styling, performance and comfort. My friend wanted to buy a good quality hid for his car first, and also wind shields and seat accessories. He’d been planning to buy one for weeks now for his new car. He brought his car to the nearby auto shop and have it assessed. Purchasing a hid is one of the recommended add-ons for his car, plus the car seats and wind shields; but the ones available from the auto shop are expensive. Online store was his alternative. He was a bit worried when I recommended doing an online purchase. His purchasing things online for the first time. But I was confident in suggesting CarID.com because of their user-friendly interface. Plus they accept all major credit cards, meaning buying from their store won’t be such a hassle.

Russian Roulette

No comments:

Rihanna must be the first thing that comes to mind when this two words are mentioned. That mosaic-like video of the pop superstar will not even have a single thought about the best online roulette casinos. But did you know that there are a lot of online roulette games on the web that game enthusiast can subscribe to? Wikipedia defined online roulette games as:

Roulette (sometimes known as 'rulet') is a casino game named after a French diminutive for "little wheel". In the game, players may choose to place bets on either a single number or a range of numbers, the colors red or black, or whether the number is odd or even. To determine the winning number and color, a croupier spins a wheel in one direction, then spins a ball in the opposite direction around a tilted circular track running around the circumference of the wheel. The ball eventually loses momentum and falls on to the wheel and into one of 37 (in French/European roulette) or 38 (in American roulette) colored and numbered pockets on the wheel.

Eleven Rules

No comments:

I saw this at a friend’s wall on Facebook. It’s an excerpt from a speech delivered by Bill Gates which talks about the Eleven Things Kids Did Not And Will Not Learn In School. Everything made sense. Why didn’t I read about this sooner? Like when I was eight? :|

  • Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!
  • Rule 2: The world doesn’t care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
  • Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won’t be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
  • Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
  • Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.
  • Rule 6: If you mess up, it’s not your parents’ fault, so don’t whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
  • Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren’t as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent’s generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
  • Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they’ll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn’t bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
  • Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don’t get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.
  • Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
  • Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end up working for one.

Coins

No comments:

There was a time when I thought of collecting coins. I read in an article that this time is the perfect time to start collecting coins because a lot of people are getting involved with it. More people involved means a lot more options with the kinds of coins one wants to include in their collection. Collectors consider different things when finding the right articles. I am particularly interested with gold coins. Researching about this would-be hobby led me to an article about coin collection:

There may never be a better time for buying silver bullion than right now. World demand for silver now exceeds annual production, and has every year since 1990. Above ground stockpiles of silver bullion are low, shrinking rapidly and approaching zero. Since the end of WWII, for example, the U.S. government – once the largest stockpiler of silver on the planet – has dumped billions and billions of ounces of silver bars onto the world market, effectively depressing silver prices. Today, that government silver hoard is gone . . . and now the U.S. government is a silver buyer. For these reasons, silver bars represent an outstanding investment opportunity.

All I need to have are the right resources for my collection. The article I read suggested the United States Gold Bureau. The United States Gold Bureau is the America’s best dealer with a convenient market and competitive precious coins and metals at reasonable prices. It’s convenient because collectors can place orders online and have their coins delivered.

Brick

No comments:

Six a.m. day after Christmas
I throw some clothes on in the dark
The smell of cold
Car seat is freezing
The world is sleeping
I am numb

Up the stairs to her apartment
She is balled up on the couch
Her mom and dad went down to Charlotte
They're not home to find us out
And we drive
Now that I have found someone
I'm feeling more alone
Than I ever have before

She's a brick and I'm drownin' slowly
Off the coast and I'm headed nowhere
She's a brick and I'm drownin' slowly

They call her name at seven-thirty
I pace around the parking lot
And I walk down to buy her flowers
And sell some gifts that I got

Can't you see
It's not me you're dying for
Now she's feeling more alone
Then she ever has before

She's a brick and I'm drownin' slowly
Off the coast and I'm headed nowhere
She's a brick and I'm drownin' slowly

As weeks went by
It showed that she was not fine
They told me, "Son it's time to tell the truth," and
She broke down and I broke down
Cause I was tired of lying

Driving back to her apartment
For the moment we're alone
Yeah she's alone
And I'm alone
Now I know it

She's a brick and I'm drownin' slowly
Off the coast and I'm headed nowhere
She's a brick and I'm drownin' slowly

I wanted to write how I am feeling right now. But it’s just so overwhelming, I didn’t know where to start. So I decided to pick a song the would best represent it. Tomorrow, I will write or else I’ll explode.

Weekends On Wheels

No comments:

I got Macky to thank for breaking my weekend routine for the past five years. Well, make that four years and six months, if you would count my short-lived teaching job last year.

The invite was sent to me through SMS one afternoon. I remember being swamped with writing tasks that Tuesday. The tone of my phone was my break. Saw ‘Mark Paralejas (Macky’s real name)’ flashing on the screen, opened the message, and it read:

Bike tayo this Saturday.

I actually said yes the first time he asked me. I was a bit giddy about the idea that I’ll do something different that coming weekend. I do not have a bike of my own, but Macky said I could use his brother’s bike. Come bike day, I was down with something :| But I was able to finally go two weeks after that. He let me use his bike instead of his brother’s since the seat was a bit too high for me.

One of our stop-overs last weekend.

Last weekend, we started earlier that the first two weeks. It was 5:30, we were on our way to Pritil. The place is really nice before dawn. It was a bit breezy and sea was calm that morning. The fishermen are washing their feet at nearby faucets before carrying pails of fresh fish to the market. There were kids playing and biking as well. We decided to drop by 7-Eleven and ate breakfast. Then we went bike window shopping in Tayuman, then Angono and then Taytay – we conquered three towns in four hours!

Biking around town with Macky is always the best part of my week. Riding a bike is when I feel most free.

September Slots

No comments:

It’s the first of September. The first day of the –ber months. My mother reminded me that I need to prepare a Christmas list as early as today to skip the holiday rush hassle. I was research for my review on online slot machines when she mentioned it. It had been a good fifteen minutes of scanning when I realized that all the information necessary for my short article is on this Wikipedia ‘online slot machines’ snippet. Everything from the game’s history to its basic rules are all in one page. One link the article suggested is this interesting reviews of the different online slot machines available online. I was a bit surprised with that information because I didn’t know there are a lot of web sites dedicated to this type of service. With these information, I was able to write my review in an hour and was able to submit my assignment on time. Yay!

After writing my review, I started asking my mother what would be our theme for this year’s Christmas gift for our relatives and family friends. Last year, we prepared an emergency goodie bag and put everything in a pail. This year, my mother suggested we buy them a set of plates. Now, hmmm…

The keywords have been very random. Blog assignments have been pouring in. But I was a bit baffled when I saw this one particular assignment on queue: cure for herpes. Now, this has got me thinking of the people who’ve been visiting my blog within the past couple of months. I’d say people between the age of 28 to 38 perhaps? ‘cause if it’s much younger, then I’d really be alarmed. :|
